Don't Give Up

Today, 9.10.12, is World Suicide Prevention Day.
Show your support by wearing yellow and/or writing LOVE on your wrist.

Now I know just by writing four letters on my body with a sharpie isn't going to magically save the world. But I believe that it takes just one person to change the life of another. One word can be the difference between life and death. For me, that word is LOVE.
I have two scars on my wrist. I don't remember the reasons for them, all I remember is that they were pretty petty. But I see them and I remember the (relative) pain I was in. I promised a very close friend of mine that I would never try to hurt myself again. Because he loves me and I him. LOVE prevents me from making any more mistakes.
When I think about others who have an actual habit of self-harm, it makes me terribly sad. To think that someone is suffering so much that self-harm seems like the only outlet.... it's unimaginably heartbreaking.
I want to spread my love out to all those who are hurting, like a huge blanket of protection over everyone who desires its warmth.
So even if I may not confront something, verbally telling someone that life is beautiful and amazing, maybe... just maybe my wrist can say it for me.
LOVE is the key to everything <3
